A RARE 54-BORE PERCUSSION DOUBLE-ACTION REVOLVER, MODEL 'REEVE'S PATENT', no visible serial number,
conforming to patent 1623 of July 19, 1858, with 6in. octagonal barrel marked 'HENRY ALLPORT, CORK', dove-tailed fore-sight, the top-strap signed 'CHARLES REEVES, IMPROVED PATENT, DOUBLE ACTION' and engraved with a scrolled border, standing notch back-sight to rear, plain five-shot cylinder with engraved borderlines, borderline and scroll engraved solid frame with side-plate, spurred hammer, chequered one-piece semi saw-handled walnut grip, articulated loading lever mounted to left hand side of barrel and pull-down release for cylinder arbor (arbor catch replaced, action at fault, worn with pitting)
